UCSB is a leading institution of environmental research conducted by faculty, postdoctoral students, and graduate and undergraduate students. Environmental research at UCSB places particular value on interdisciplinarity in environmental scholarship, crossing multiple disciplines and utilizing various methodologies to provide cutting-edge knowledge on many environmental topics. Faculty and students, from Anthropology and Earth Science to Marine Science and Physics, do research that advances our understanding of the many dimensions and implications of environmental issues.
